From September 26 to 28, 2025, the Toronto Fall Home Show brings together hundreds of homeowners, vendors, and industry experts -and one of the biggest questions we kept hearing was: “What’s the best backup power solution for my home, cottage, or off-grid setup?”
Some wanted backup power for rural areas where outages are common. Others were preparing for camping trips or looking to power outdoor weddings, events, or food trucks without the rumble of a gas generator. Many were simply looking for peace of mind - something compact, safe, and ready when needed.
The Trek 4200 Backup Battery System attracted the most attention at the event. According to national reports, thousands of Canadians experience multiple outages each year, often lasting several hours or longer, especially in rural communities. In extreme weather conditions, this can disrupt not only comfort but also safety. The Trek 4200 was designed in direct response to these challenges. With only 6 kWh of electricity usage and a powerful 6,144 Wh capacity, it delivers enough energy to keep essential appliances, such as refrigerators, lights, Wi-Fi routers, and home office equipment, running smoothly during unexpected blackouts. Moreover, visitors also discussed our small batteries to explore the possibility.
Beyond the portable power stations, visitors explored the Flex-AC Smart EV Charger, which pairs seamlessly with our GreenMiles Rewards Program, where users earn $100 for every 1,000 kWh charged at home. GreenMiles Rewards is designed to help Canadian EV owners turn their home charging into cash rewards through Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations. No upfront costs or subscription fees, rewards start automatically as you charge with qualified EV Chargers.
We were also glad to see Toronto Hydro at the show, highlighting their support for clean technology and local innovation. Through their Cleantech Services Network, Toronto Hydro connects qualified contractors, consultants, and clean energy professionals with customers looking to adopt sustainable solutions. This network plays a key role in accelerating the shift toward smarter, greener energy systems across the city. As the demand for renewable energy grows, programs like this make it easier for homeowners and businesses to make the transition.
